Spaceship Earth has always been one of my favorite rides at Epcot. Lets face it, it is not only the icon of the park but you get to go all the way to the tippy-top of the geosphere, how much cooler can it get. Well, the inside of the ride is nothing to sneeze at.... one of my favorite scenes in Spaceship Earth is the scene in Egypt, which probably isn't too much of a surprise considering I am an archaeologist and I've been to Egypt. I love how all the hieroglyphics are true depictions and every time I pass through I wish I had payed more attention in my Egyptian Archaeology class, because maybe I could read some of the writings.
My daily Disney devotion for January 18th was on honor of Spaceship Earth and specifically the Egyptian scene. I took some time out during Everett's nap and played my favorite computer game, Pharaoh. Its pretty antiquated as far as computer games go, but I got to build by own Egyptian city, and make papyrus, just like the audio-animatronic.
